This is a Live, in person 2 hour class that focuses on feeling great, enjoyment, playfulness, community and connection.

This is a complete practice, which flows seamlessly through many different modalities and techniques:

- Gentle qigong and tai chi

- Dynamic vinyasa yoga flow

- Yin and restorative yoga

- Closing meditation

In Chinese Medicine, winter is a time to slow down, rest, and become quieter. Sadly often our society and culture demands the opposite in December! How do we balance our need for hibernation and our need to honour our social and work commitments?

In this course we'll explore practices which help us find the calm in the storm, prevent fatigue and overwhelm, and remind us how to be more restful and tranquil.

In this course we'll explore practices for each element. We'll also look to identify where we might individually have imbalances, and then prescribe specific practices for each of you in your own time to develop a mini personal practice.

Sun salutations (or vinyasas): we do them endlessly in flow based yoga, but do we really know what we’re doing? Have you ever even been taught this in detail?

There’s an assumption that because they are so common in practice, that they must be simple, and that we know how to do them - but this is usually not the case.

In the course we go back to basics, learning each posture, alignment, how to modify to get the most from the sequence, and why this sequence contains within it all the building blocks for strength and flexibility for every other yoga pose in your practice.

The perfect way to de-stress from Monday.

This workshop combines Yin Yoga (long, relaxing holds in deep stretches), and methods adapted from contortion (don't worry, you do NOT have to be super bendy to join!).

The class will have a relaxed informal atmosphere, with very little flow / vinyasa. Instead we focus on progressive stretching to leave you feeling free of tension, relaxed and revitalised.

BACK BENDING WORKSHOP

SUNDAY MARCH 7TH

You will learn:

- How to explore deeper backbends without pain

- To identify and release the areas preventing you from going deeper safely

- What your specific pelvis position is (APT or PPT) and learn stretches and drills tailored to that specific position

Workshop Format:

- Pre back bending drills to warm up effectively

- Anatomical discussion on alignment and precision

- Practice different types of backbends and learn about their related shoulder / hip position

- Post- back bend conditioning to prevent discomfort or soreness the next day

This workshops draws from the best practices of both yoga and contortion for safe, controlled back bends.
