mongolia Yoga wilderness Retreat

24th july - 3rd august 2025

Get ready for an epic, unforgettable yoga adventure in one of the most remote and remarkable places on earth - Mongolia.

Explore two contrasting locations: The expansive Gobi desert with its huge skies and the Khan Khentii wilderness where the Upper Tuul River meanders gently through the vast meadows of wildflowers, surrounded by endless forested hills.

Our Gobi location is where you will enjoy daily yoga, a desert hike and an afternoon exploring ancient Buddhist sites deep in the desert, watching the sunset from high rocks and a campfire dinner.

Then our second retreat camp in the Khan Kentii, is where our days are spent hiking, cycling or riding horses in the wilderness with local herders, as well as rafting and kayaking on the river.

On this retreat I will be working with another brilliant yoga teacher, Jean Hall.

About the practice, activities and more. Highlights include:

  • Two or three daily yoga classes, including meditation, breathwork and an asana practice

  • Soft healing yin and restorative poses, inversions and deep relaxation (yoga nidra)

  • 1 hike in the Gobi with local herdsmen

  • 1 hike in Khan Kentii with local herdsmen

  • A desert camp excursion with meditation and camp fire dinner

  • Luxury camping in traditional Mongolian gers – known in the UK as yurts

  • Delicious, vegetarian meals cooked in a traditional yurt kitchen

  • Off-grid, no phone reception and hardly any people – just incredible nature and you!

  • Optional horse riding, sauna, massages, kayaking and rafting

On this retreat we have myself and Jean Hall, working together to create a deeply held yoga journey for you.

Jean Hall teaches somatic-based, yoga vinyasa that sources the breath for movement flow, strength, balance and awareness. She combines her life-long studies of yoga, Buddhism, mindfulness and diverse movement styles to help draw you safely beyond limitations and closer to your true potential and confidence with a warm down to earth approach.

I will teach slow and strength based flows, that are lighthearted but challenging. I will combine fluid, slow flowing sequences of postures linked through breath and awareness.

There will be a focus on building strength and flexibility in a balanced way while connecting body to heart and mind.

Options will be offered for all levels throughout depending on how nourishing or fiery you like your practice.

In Mongolia a remote and exciting yoga adventure awaits you, and takes place in two very different locations.

We travel to our first camp on the Trans Mongolian train and arrive in the Gobi in time for a good night’s sleep before we begin our adventures.

Our Gobi location is an other-worldly and unique retreat location.

Then we head by jeep to our second retreat camp in the Khan Kentii, possibly one of the most beautiful places you will see.

We travel with our own brilliant Thai massage therapist, and you can also enjoy a blissful time in our riverside yurt sauna, which is an experience not to be missed.

Once you have heated your body you can run outside and jump into the very refreshing river to cool down. A top Mongolian revitalising experience!

On this retreat you’ll be eating delicious, vegetarian meals cooked in a yurt kitchen.

Meals are created with seasonally available ingredients and you’ll have a hearty breakfast, a light lunch and a delicious dinner.

This could possibly be the ultimate yurt yoga retreat!

This is a luxury camp, with accommodation in traditional Mongolian gers – known in the UK as yurts.

The gers have wooden floors and are beautifully decorated in traditional nomadic style with hand-crafted furnishings.

There are eco toilets which are a short walk from the camp. There are two beautiful yurts for showers, and we have a rota to make sure everyone can get clean!
